Topeka Proposes a Comprehensive Sign Code Update

The City of Topeka (KS)  is planning a substantial revision of its existing sign code.  The proposed changes will have a significant impact on the allowable numbers, sizes and heights of new signs moving forward, but will not affect signs existing prior to the date when the revised ordinance is approved.

Two public meetings will be held on Tuesday, February 26th at 1:00 and 6:00pm to review the proposed revisions. A draft of the city’s proposed requirements is currently available for review. The City conducted a public survey which it cites as evidence of citizen support for the proposed sign code revisions.
