Out-of-Home Industry Soars on Digital Wings

According to research reported by PQ Media, global Out-of-Home (OOH) advertising revenues increased by approximately 7.5 percent in 2018, representing the fastest growth rate in 11 years. What’s more, following a less impressive 2019, media analysts are forecasting continued record growth for global OOH in 2020.

Additionally, the share of global revenues for all Digital Out-of-Home (DOOH) platforms is projected to increase from 20.7 percent in 2013 to an estimated 28.3 percent in 2019.

While the OOH industry is an entirely separate and distinct entity from the on-premise sign industry which FASI serves, this impressive growth is being driven primarily by utilization of digital platforms. Thus, the current trend underscores the key role of on-premise, electronic signage (e.g. the sign in the featured image above) in maximizing revenues for retail and commercial businesses.
